Christ Community Church Covenant
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24–25)
The Christ Community Church Covenant is birthed out of our love for the body of Christ and the individuals who belong to our local fellowship. The Bible teaches that every believer is incorporated into the family of God, which is lived out in a local church, therefore we are “doing life together.” This is an agreement in which the participants willingly and voluntarily agree to fulfill their responsibilities as summarized in this covenant.
The elders/pastors, as shepherds and overseers, are entrusted with leading, protecting, equipping, and caring for the individuals at Christ Community Church according to the scriptures. The leadership accomplishes this through teaching and counsel from the scriptures, being a godly example, praying for those in need, being good stewards of its resources, and exercising loving biblical discipline when necessary for the benefit of the person disciplined and the health of the church.
As a born-again believer who acknowledges that Christ Community Church is my home church, I agree with the church’s statement of faith, its vision statement, and my calling to participate in this fellowship. I willingly submit to the authority of scripture and the leadership God has placed over CCC for my spiritual growth. I agree to conduct my life in such a way as to glorify God and to use my gifts to serve in the strengthening and building of the body of Christ. I will reflect the character of Christ by pursuing certain attitudes and actions and the rejection of others, which is “living by the Spirit” (Romans 8).
